The compression ring installation for Volgograd Arena Stadium started in August 2016. The compression ring is a principal bearing steel structure that holds the roof of the stadium tensioned at the height of 40 m.
JV Konar-Cimolai is fabricating and erecting the steel structures for the compression ring and the façade of the Volgograd Arena Stadium. The ring consists of 44 equal parts, 30 t each. All 44 elements weighing in total 1 370 t rest on the bearing columns and form a strong ring able to withstand a substantial load that is transmitted to the ring form the roof cable system.
